Katrina L

Science Mentor

Hello! I am Katrina and I am a grade 11 student, currently attending Unionville High School. I have always been a curious kid, wondering where and how everything came to be. When making slime became a trend, I was astonished to see glue turned into something fun and different. This phase is what inspired me to become a science mentor at FutureEd. Outside of school, I play sports such as swimming, volleyball, dance, and occasionally badminton. I enjoy expressing myself in many ways through art, baking, and anything using creativity! I often connect my lessons to real world events and my own experience, hoping students can relate as well!

Samuel D

French Mentor

Hello! My name is Samuel Du and I’m 15 years old. I’m in grade 9, and was in the French Extended program from grade seven to eight. Growing up, I was always fond of the French language, reading French labels on food packages and anything else that had the beautiful language printed on it. I believe that my experience together with enthusiastic students will create a fun and meaningful learning experience which will further enhance their French knowledge while still keeping them interested and engaged in the language. In my spare time, I like to cook, read, and go outside and take time with nature.

Stanley Z

Workshop Mentor

Hello. My name is Stanley Zhou, and I am a Grade 10 (Graduating in 2026) student at Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute in Toronto. In school, I enjoy discussions about politics and finance, which I hope to bring to students at FutureED through teaching history, because history is the outward expression of internal political and financial currents. Outside of school, I swim competitively, play the trumpet, and I also invest in the stock market as a hobby.
